Family trip to California

Ok so it's been over a year since our last blog update. I know we are the only losers who don't update our blog. We just got back from our trip to Disneyland and the San Diego Zoo.

The kids loved Disneyland. There was so much for both of them to do. We were able to go on most of the rides as a family. Lauren was really brave, she went on Tower of Terror and on Splash Mountain. If she was tall enough to go on it she would try it. Lindsay's favorite is "Soarin over California". She and Lauren went on it 4 times. Lauren's new favorite rides were Pirates of the Caribbean and Small World. Cohen liked Monsters Inc and Small world.

It was still pretty crowded for the supposed off season. We spent 2 full days in the park and then went to San Diego Zoo on the 3rd day. The zoo was really cool. The kids got to pet goats and we saw some really cool animal stuff. It was like watching the Discovery Channel in real life. It made me never want to go to Hogle Zoo again. The animals were actually active and in their realistic environments.

The last day we went to Balboa Island in Newport. (Mike did not lose the rental car keys this time...) It was a lot of fun. Lauren ran from the waves and played in the sand while I Boogie Boarded. All in all it was a really fun time and we were happy to get away. Here are some pictures.

The other day Lauren went off to the bathroom for a while...when we went looking for her this is what we found. She said she learned it from Daddy.

More D Land pics..

^^^Lauren at Disneyland with Cinderella.
Handicap access passes at Disneyland are the best thing ever. I don't think I will ever go again without having some sort of injury. We were able to get to the front of every line in Disneyland. Even when Brenda wouldn't go I always had some sort of mystery handicap that prevented me from waiting in line with all the healthy people. I know that is bad, but the lines were really long...

We saw this handsome devil eating this sucker and just couldn't resist taking a picture of him.

Newport Beach...a month ago.

Here is Lauren and her cousins buried in the sand. The most eventful thing of the day was I left the keys to the rental van in my pocket and went Boogie Boarding....ya the waves were really big and I got rolled a few times. Needless to say I lost the keys. The rental company wouldn't bring us a new set. Instead they had another F350 econoline van put on a flat bed fron LAX and drove it to us on the beach in Newport in rush hour on a Friday night...Ya it cost me a lot of extra money. But the beach was fun. I also got way sunburned and chaffed my nipples on the boogie board. But other than all that it way good.

Disneyland Pics a month later..

Cohen and his little buddy Mickey.
Cohen smiling after we left Seaworld. Even he thought it sucked. Seaworld was so crowded and hot I think I might have seen a fish or something there. They haven't updated any of the exhibits in like 20 years and they cannot keep up with the crowds.

The Shamoo show was so lame. I swear Shamoo was like drunk and out of shape and barely did any tricks while they played lame inspirational music that I think they stole from Free Wiley.

Last time we came it was cool to play in the tide pool with all the Starfish and creatures in the water. This time they only had a few dried up Starfish on the verge of death.

Then we went to the "shark adventure". The only adventure was trying to see one of five of the small sharks they had in basically a backyard swimming pool with a tunnel under it. It was so crowded and hot it was miserable. We were there for 4 hours and left.
Lauren looking hot and sweaty after 12 hours at Disneyland.
Seaworld. Cohen (not pictured) sitting in his car seat sleeping like he does whenever we do something cool.
Lauren and me on the California adventure land ferris wheel. We were in the carts that rocked. I thought Lauren would be scared but she loved it.
